Who We Are

The full service steel production and distribution (company) which is now known as Alexandria Precision Metals, was founded in 1958 as Apex Machine.

Our original facility in Newark, New Jersey began as a precision machining company, specializing in centerless grinding. From the very beginning, we developed and implemented innovative production and delivery systems to meet our manufacturing customers stringent requirements for stainless, carbon steel and tools steel. And as we grew, we also developed a reputation for quality and reliability.

More than half a century later, Alexandria Precision Metals continues the strong traditions of quality and reliability on which we were founded.
